DC Foodie Fun Times Alert

The lovely folks over at the American History Museum (that’s the Smithsonian to you, tourists) let me know about a great event happening this weekend. Alice Waters, chef at the fabulous Chez Panisse in New York and author of my current cookbook bible—The Art of Simple Food, is coming to sign her new book The Edible Schoolyard. She’ll be there, pen in hand, from 1-4pm on Saturday, June 13th. To go along with her appearance, the café will be preparing a special menu using some of Ms. Waters’ recipes. Additionally, they’re going to have staff on hand to answer questions about their authentic Victory Garden, planted using a guide from 1943. Food, fun AND learning! It’s the trifecta! So get on down to the American History Museum, see Alice Waters and ogle Julia Child’s kitchen while you’re there. I’ll be there patiently waiting in line, so no cuts, not even backcuts. Find more information on their blog.
