The Republicans have been on a roll this month. After trying to sentence to death pregnant women and abortion providers, they professed their love for science by declaring that “global warming is beneficial” and proposing to strip the EPA of its ability to regulate greenhouse gas pollution. Not to mention what’s going on in Wisconsin.
Now they’re taking their affinity for the arts to a new height: they want to eliminate federal funding for NPR and PBS. Google just launched the awesome Art Project! Using their Street View technology, it allows you to “explore museums from around the world, discover and view hundreds of artworks at incredible zoom levels, and even create and share your own collection of masterpieces.”

Liu Bolin is a Chinese artist who paints himself to blend in with the background. This photo is one of many in the “Hiding In The City” series. The Daily Mail explains “that the inspiration behind his work was a sense of not fitting in to modern society and was a silent protest against the persecution of artists.”


This sand sculpture of the Simpsons is not the most intricate, but it still looks pretty dope to me. It was created in 2008 at FIESA: the International Sand Sculpture Festival in Algarve, Portugal. This photo was taken by Pancinha on Flickr. Check out his sets for more photos.
