Kepler Discovers a Planet with Two Suns
NASA Science:
The existence of a world with a double sunset, as portrayed in the film Star Wars more than 30 years ago, is now scientific fact. NASA’s Kepler mission has made the first unambiguous detection of a circumbinary planet — a planet orbiting two stars — 200 light-years from Earth.

Unfortunately, none of these moon shots were featured in NASA’s Astronomy Picture of the Day. That honor went to Anthony Ayiomamitis who captured a regular—not “super”—full moon over the Parthenon on January 19, 2011:

NASA also posted a photo of last weekend’s super perigee moon rising near the Lincoln Memorial in DC, but it pales in comparison to the one rising over London .
