The MintLife blog has some useful tips, but I have to disagree with using lemons to clean your garbage disposal. Our plumber told us that’s the worst thing you can put down there. Instead, he recommends using a few ice cubes every once in a while to clean the disposal and to sharpen the blades.
I’m also surprised that, of all the supporters of the lemon method, the author of the article—who is representing a popular money management site—chose to link to Bargainomics. I would never take financial advice from anyone whose slogan is “Bargainomics is money management God’s way!” and whose site looks like this:
